Michelle Fields and Ben Shapiro: What Really Happened at Breitbart?

When Michelle Fields claimed to be the victim of a violent assault (which we now know is a hoax), there was massive drama within Breitbart.

Fields was “attacked” at a Trump press conference, in full view of hundreds of people and dozens of cameras. Her story made no sense.

Breitbart had a choice. Go with listen and believe culture, which they mocked the left for, or refuse to back their reporter.

Breitbart went with listen and believe, and you could read the revolt on social media and even in reader comments. Their own readers were outraged. Yet Breitbart was in a dilemma.

If they didn’t back their reporter’s first hand account of what happened to her, how could any of her reporting be trusted?

Breitbart also has a strong contingent of what I call man-up conservatives. You know the type. A real man always….and what follows is something about supplicating before a woman. A real man never touches a woman, even to brush her out of the way when she’s obstructing Trump, a man-up conservative would say.

There has also been a lot of internal strife as Ben Shapiro, it can now be revealed, has had his new website funded by two billionaire Ted Cruz donors – the Wilks Brothers.

Shapiro is under marching orders to praise Cruz and attack Trump. (In 2011, before becoming a sugar baby to the Wilks boys, he wrote an article called, “The Magic of Donald Trump.”)

Shapiro’s lack of personal ethics caused more drama within Breitbart. If they called out Shapiro for being a sugar baby, wouldn’t that call his reporting for Breitbart’s main site into question?

After my article proving that Michelle Fields and Shapiro lied went viral, something had to be done. Due to the power of social media, the story wasn’t going to go away. People kept linking to my article on social media, demanding that Fields, Shapiro, and others address it.

No one would address my article, as it conclusively proved Michelle Fields lied. As Fields filed a police report regarding the “assault,” this story might not be over. She could be charged with a crime.

Thus Michelle Fields and Ben Shapiro were forced to resign.

P.S. If you’re new here, I don’t like writing about media matters. I have to as journalism is corrupt and nobody else is calling out these hoaxes.

The story is appalling, but now Ben Shapiro, Michelle Fields, Ben Lowe and Dana Loesch, anti-Trump operatives, are sticking with “her arm was bruised!” (and ignoring the little detail that it was an SS agent, not Lewandowski, as the video shows). How do we know that? She posted a pic of a little bruise on her arm.

1) Since she lied about being “pulled down”, the story being she was “dragged to the ground”, she is no doubt lying about this too, and gave herself the little bruise.
2) Even if she wasn’t lying about the bruise, what the hell does that matter? She tried to grab Trump. She was way closer than she should be, note that other reporters were far back. The Secret Service agent did what the instructions say, he quickly pulled her away, then let go. It didn’t take even a second. Anyone who watches the video can see that the SS agent acted exactly as he should – while Michelle didn’t.

By the way, she is married to an NRO hack, paid to slander Trump with lies, as we have seen over and over again from that rag. What a coincidence that she would lie about being “pulled down” to the ground!

Damn. I liked Ben Shapiro; he made some good points and analysis in the past. But clinging to this hoax is indeed pathetic. Hardly any witnesses or multiple confirming videos in a room full of journalists & camera? What a load of crap.

Good post. As to the PS, I came here to read your calling out of the dishonest media on this story, and I’ll stay for the essays on masculinity.

My husband and I raised four boys and it’s more than a little alarming how masculinity has been trashed for the past couple of generations. You and other bloggers of your ilk have a yeoman’s work ahead of you. I wish you the best.

That was a great piece of reporting you did, Mike. It goes to show that if you don’t refute the “reports” right away, 4 years later all that anyone remembers is that narrative. If there is any connection to mindset in these news stories is that you have to push accusations right away when they are made. They often are without merit and/or outright lies, therefore the first line of attack from the media is “feelings” and “shame”. It is very difficult to stand against them if you don’t have a strong mindset.

My take on Ben Shapiro: just like Mike says “you should be judged as a whole, not by a single thing you’ve done”. He might be in the wrong here, but he has a solid history of fighting the good fight. He is also one of the brightest conservatives out there, delivering brilliant analysis and destroying ‘progressives’ in all debates he is invited to. I don’t agree with him on all issues, and I find this altercation with Breitbart rather disappointing, but that doesn’t instantly make him an “enemy” or an SJW.

Read between the lines. The only people who have been consistently lying, are Trump, Lewandowski and their supporters.
