“Obeying Stalin wasn’t enough to keep you from the gulags. You had to love him.” – Source unknown.
Although it’s important to focus on self-development, a man who believes in self-development must remain wise before he shares his views with the world. People don’t merely disagree with us. If they disagreed with us, that would be cool. Celebrate diversity!
They want to destroy our economic livelihood and throw us into prison.
They don’t want to look at data or have a debate. They want to put us in prison for thoughtcrime. (“In 1984, the government attempts to control not only the speech and actions, but also the thoughts of its subjects. To entertain unacceptable thoughts is known as crimethink in Newspeak, the ideologically purified dialect of the party.”)
Ed Brayton writes the ironically named “Free Thought Blog.” A self-proclaimed “free speech absolutionist,” Ed Brayton has come out on record claiming that domestic violence against a woman is less disturbing than expressing your words and ideas.
(Why is Ed Brayton, who is clearly winning at life, so full of hatred and rancor?)
I will use Ed Brayton’s own words, lest he claim I am taking him out of context:
You may have heard about the MMA fighter who calls himself War Machine brutally beating his ex-girlfriend, porn star Christy Mac, last week after coming to her house and finding her with another man. There have been many disturbing things about the story, especially those who somehow thought the fact that she’s a porn star somehow makes the situation less appalling or more understandable. Even more disturbing are the views this asshole expressed, which put him right in the mainstream of the MRA movement.
I have overstated many of my positions. I have made comments I regret. I have never said or thought anything “even more disturbing” than what War Machine did to Christy Mack.
(Our views are “even more disturbing” than this, Ed?)
Since our thoughts and words are “even more disturbing” than rupturing a woman’s spleen, and since women beaters are sent to prison, one can only deduce that Ed Brayton believes we belong in prison.
If you believe men should become more masculine or alpha, Ed Brayton wants you in prison.
If you believe that men and women should form traditional relationships where the man provides leadership in the relationship and a woman plays a supportive role, Ed Brayton wants you in prison.
If you believe a woman should be required to prove her claim (of parentage, domestic violence, or even rape) in a court of law, Ed Brayton wants want you in prison.
If you believe in data (which shows that men are victims of domestic violence as often as women), Ed Brayton wants you in prison.
Our adversaries are not sane or honest or moral people.
Our adversaries are vile scum who believe that the words expressed on websites like Danger & Play are “even more disturbing” than what Mar Machine did to Christy Mack.
Remain vigilant and keep your views among yourself and only your most trusted friends and family members.
It’s easy to get into a self-development bubble where we forget what types of people are out there.
Sometimes, however, you need to be reminded that people like Ed Brayton exist.
