Cyber Monday Deals for Men

Shop Amazon – Cyber Monday Deals Week

I am no proponent of mindless consumerism. But often the best investment is saving money on something you’re already going to buy. I thus tend to do 90% of my shopping twice each year. If you planned on buying something, today is the day. Some guys already saved 30% of an Omega juicer. Nice.

I’m going to pick up a video camera to start producing ebooks and other informative videos. Which one of these cameras should I pick up? I snagged some headphones for the gym, a heart rate monitor, and crown Condoms (the best) – a 100 pack for $13.23. I am also in the market for a new piece of carry on luggage to accommodate my 2013 travel schedule.

After you’ve finished shopping, come back. This week’s posts will include:

  • How to Make Her Come to You
  • Value Investing (in Yourself), including Warren Buffett’s Single Best Investing Tip
  • How to Increase Your IQ by 5-10 Points
  • What’s Getting Old Like for a Man?

I’d go with something without wheels, like the ebags weekender ($70, ~4lbs) or a tom bihn aeronaut ($250, 2.5lbs) if your ever going outside of the car-airport-taxi-hotel circuit for a carry on. Or go even more minimalist with a daypack sized REI overnighter ($80) or a GoRuck GR2 ($400).

I find I use my heart rate sensor data a lot more with my smartphone. I love my bluethooth HRM. Look at the ‘Polar H7 Bluetooth Smart Heart Rate Sensor’ if you have an iPhone 4S/5. There’s also some other kind of bluetooth HRM for android phones.

As far as cameras, I’d either choose a beach worthy Nikon GW100 or a mirrorless camera like a Sony NEX

“crown Condoms (the best) – a 100 pack for $13.23″

That’s an incredible deal. Also, a D&P writeup on various condom brands and styles would be the definitive value-adding (and SEO amplifying) post of the quarter it’s published.

      Great idea. Will do.

Man, we really need sales here in S.A. like they have in America!!

Looking forward to this week’s posts.

If you’re gonna use the camera for photo and video, make sure you get a DSLR camera. Having removable lenses will allow for you to upgrade lenses to improve performance as your camera body becomes obsolete. A point and shit will just not cut it if you want professionalism. The sensor is too small, and the compression is to high. I’m a Canon snob, but Nikon is not bad.

I’ve actually been meaning to send a message to every blogger on my roll about photo and video content. Do you shoot it yourself, use stock photos/footage, etc? I do freelance photography and cinematography and have wondered if the manosphere (don’t like that term, but it works in context) could use my work. I’m always looking for new clients in different niche areas and love when I’m doing something for work I’m also passionate about. I just didn’t know how the writers I follow value the quality of their media since their focus is mostly written content. So I’m trying to figure out if it’s an area you feel would be worth investing in for improving the quality if your posts…

I want to do YouTube videos.

      My budget is $400.

What camera would advise me to buy?

Well if you have the time, go into an electronics store and handle a couple cameras to see what feels right for you. If you go to an actual camera shop (like Sammy’s) a salesperson should actually be able to walk through a couple cameras with you so you can play around with them.

I recommend you either find a Canon Rebel T3, or a Nikon D3000. They are both great starter cameras and you will be able to achieve a much more professional look than with a standard point and shoot. But what’s important to note is that the quality of lens you use makes a huge difference. The lower the f-stop (or t-stop), the less extra light you need to make the image look high quality.

I’ve also recommended to people that if they want to get a better camera, or better lenses, look to Ebay or Craigslist. It can be risky, but you can get way more bang for your buck if you buy used.

Just bought the condoms–thanks for the heads up. Was going back and forth on the Omega the other day. Came close. But the perfectly fine Breville I have dissuaded me. Maybe next year.
